ERC20 USDT Mixer
ERC20 USDT lives on Ethereum, where the fee is paid in gas and the base-layer cost can dominate a small transfer. This page covers what changes when your USDT runs as an ERC20 token.
what the page answers
What ERC20 changes: gas, confirmations, and where the cost sits.
Gas mechanism described from Ethereum's own documentation (EIP-1559 on eips.ethereum.org and ethereum.org/en/gas/, checked 2026-10-31).
Direct answer
The token rides on gas
On Ethereum, every USDT transfer is an operation on the chain, and the chain charges gas for it — paid in ETH, not in USDT. EIP-1559 split that cost into a base fee (burned, adjusting with demand) and a priority fee (to validators); the practical effect is that the same transfer costs more when the network is busy.
For mixing, this means the network fee line can exceed the service fee on small amounts — which is why fee comparisons must name the chain.
Cost anatomy
What you pay on ERC20
| Line | Paid in | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| Service fee | USDT (per service terms) | The service's published rate |
| Network gas | ETH | Chain demand + base fee (EIP-1559) |
| Payout gas | ETH | The withdrawal transaction itself |
